Labors of Love
Volunteer & Pro Bono Work
We believe in giving back to our community and profession. Following is a portfolio of our volunteer pro bono work. Each of these organizations has played a special part in our hearts and has been instrumental in making beautiful new connections. Here are some of the organizations and work we’re passionate about.
Golden Apple Foundation of New Mexico
They catalyze teacher excellence through recognition, professional development, and community engagement. We Redesigned this website and fell in love with the organization. Maresa is now proud to volunteer to help them with marketing and development.
Executive Director, Pam Powers writes: “I worked with Maresa on our website redesign and feel fortunate to have met her. Not only is she an incredible website designer, but she also encouraged me to rethink how we present our nonprofit and strategies that will help us to grow. She brings an incredible portfolio of resources that she has shared from her longtime associations in the community and extensive board of directors experience. I highly recommend Maresa and Constellation Creative!”
This new website app was developed to help those hurt by COVID-19 Coronavirus closures. This website connects struggling small restaurants to provide meals to food-insecure individuals and is funded by private donations.
Constellation Creative provided the initial website, and SEO consulting and content to get this organization ready for the next level.
Burque Against Racism
When our friend and former co-worker Mike Silva asked the Albuquerque (Burque) community to step up to help him fight racism we volunteered to help. We designed and developed a website for this new Black Lives Matter initiative.
Public Speaker/Educator & Advertising Judge
Maresa enjoys sharing what she’s learned with others. She’s available to volunteer for presentations at marketing, advertising, and hospitality organizations. She also enjoys judging advertising and marketing competitions. To see a list of her speaking engagements, please visit her LinkedIn profile.
American Advertising Federation Black Hills South Dakota November 2020 Presentation PDF:
In 2018, artist and activist Joeseph Arnoux asked if middle and high school students could paint Nativo Artist Rooms. We helped the students learn about the commercial art mural process and developed 2 rooms and a fundraiser for this amazing organization. Working Classroom is a 30-year-old arts and social justice non-profit in Albuquerque, New Mexico that cultivates the artistic, civic, and academic minds of youth through in-depth art projects with contemporary artists to amplify historically ignored voices, resist systemic injustices, and imagine a more equitable society.
American Advertising Federation
Being an in-house creative for most of her career, Maresa felt it was very important to develop and expand her network. AAF was instrumental in building an amazing network and meeting creative advertising professionals from all over the country. She was active with this organization from 2007 – 2017 and served on the National Board as District 12 Governor, President of the local New Mexico Board, and many committee positions. I still volunteer for this organization as a speaker for luncheons and as an awards judge.
2005 National Poetry Slam
In the ’90s through the 2000s Maresa was very active in Albuquerque and New Mexico’s vibrant poetry scene. She served on the executive committee that produced the largest and most successful National Poetry Slam to date in Albuquerque in 2005. The other event producers created a book about this success and I’m honored to be published in.
Other Boards & Community Support
Maresa is proud to have served on various boards and committees throughout her career. She loves connecting people, learning about organizations, and giving back. She’s always looking to expand her network and utilize her time and skills to help make the world a better place. See other past volunteer experiences on LinkedIn.
